it bloody well POURS. If you'll allow me to use an amazingly abused clich.

It's a well known fact to anyone who reads this blog that the past month hasn't been so rosey. Perhaps even the past few years. I like to try to look on the bright side when I can, because being gloomy doesn't seem to help much at all.

But sometimes, it's harder than others.

Mums been having some kinda serious health issues, which make everything in general more complicated. When she saw the specialist they found blood clots in her brain, part of what has been giving her speech and motor skills issues - I guess. She had to stay in Orange Base Hospital for a night or so when she went to the specialist because of the results.

Nan told me, she had what I like to call "the face of doom". It wasn't terribly comforting waiting for her to tell me, but though it was bad... it was better than I expected with that face.

Clearly someone thought I hadn't had enough trauma, because only a little while after I found this out, I went outside to feed the dogs... and found my Labrador dead by the dog house. She must have been there for hours. She was only four years old, I don't think she died of natural causes.

Mums been back to the local hospital a few times since, nothing as serious as the clots - meds problems, mostly. I still worry, though. She's afraid she might die.

I'm not terribly sure I blame her, despite the doctors reassurences. But I don't think she's going to die, not yet... something the universe seems determined to teach me is that we all do die, eventually, though. In the interim my knee seems to have taken a vacation on me, it sort of collapsed under me again while I was helping my aunt make my bed at Eugowra.

I also need a new sewing box.

Aside from the DOD being clueless what Washington's original medal was about, which had nothing to do with being wounded, they should at least come up with something else. They need to stop acting as if PTSD is anything to be ashamed of. The title itself means "wound" by the word "trauma" which is Greek for wound.

I agree soldiers suffering from PTSD should get something because it is caused from the war and I know how much my dad suffered with PTSD until he died in July 2005. he went throuhg so much suffering and everything and it was not good. I have secondary PTSD from dad and what he went through and put us through

it's trying to rain outside but not being very sucessful - wish it would pour!

Steffi's laptop is at the hospital getting checked out so she's using mine while I use the old puter.

going on a train ride on Saturday - vintage train 3801 - and it should be fun! Steffi and Lily will love it!

got Steffi a 320 gb portable drive so she can back her lap top up and get it reapaired. she is very happy about that!

anyway it's 40 degrees celcius here right now and really hot! makes me not want to go out side at all!

Lilys at Eugowra with the control freak aunt again and Steffi is in her room.

our air conditioning is not working - luckily its still under warranty! some one is going to fix it soon I hope.

been a quiet couple of days which is good!

this year has gone really fast for me - how about you?

are you going to watch fireworks, drink or anything fun tonight? I will be watching the fireworks with my bottle of scotch this year and loud music! that should scare the neighbors!

it's been raining here for two days and it's great! so nice a cool outside not to mention wet! hope the rain keeps up for the rest of the week!

Lily is up and watching cartoons before school and Steffi is asleep of course. the cats are running around acting like they own the place.
